Far from ballad-land Steve had to write a burner to play with Randy Brecker and this piece was also inspired by several of the 'Macs' he has had the pleasure of knowing: McCoy Tyner, Jackie McLean and thei bassist he played along with in the Mingus Big Band for 10 years,the great Andy Mckee.
