This is the first recording Steve Slagle has made which focuses on his superb flute playing. It is the first time Coltrane's EXPRESSION --a solo piece from --has ever been recorded on flute. Altho the title track is an Altosax song that Steve still plays,the varied songs are all chosen as vehicles for his renowned flute sound. The first track-Goin' Home is the only one that uses Indian Bansuri Bamboo flute he proceeds with John Scofield on his Haynes flute on the rest of this interesting and different album by the artist. Todo Flute!
